The Resurrection of the Body of Christ

The Apostles Creed is a summary of the common beliefs held by all Christians, of all denominations, and was written during the time of the apostles (while miraculous power still defined the baby church) . One of the beliefs listed in this creed is "The resurrection of the body". While many assume that this refers to our physical bodies, we should remember that in the New Testament, "body" is a metaphor for the church itself. I believe that the "ressurection of the body" is referring to a new spiritual life that will come into the church in the days leading up to the return of Christ. If you read the New Testament, you'll see that the promises, callings and definitions of our faith stretch very far above and beyond the experience of most. The Holy Spirit empowered believers when the church was first forming, and I believe that Spiritual anointing was a "first fruit", or a taste of what was certain to come at God's appointed time. I believe that God is powerful, purposeful and patient, and that all things he has promised will certainly come true.

I also believe that the timing for this "resurrection of the body" is now. Because "1000 years is as a day to the Lord and a day is as 1000 years", Jesus was resurrected "in the early hours of the third day", and he also claimed that he would be "perfected in the third day". Have no doubt, by considering that this Resurrection of the Body applies to the church, I am also saying that the Body of Christ has been "dead" for almost all of the past 2000 years. This is a very humbling and frightening concept for church-goers who don't want to rock the boat. However, if you are familiar with Church History and become willing to question the foundation of your doctrines, traditions etc, you will clearly see how this applies.

The deceptiveness of Lucifer is uncanny. The truth of this is not something that people can be convinced of by others. To see it, you have to look for the signs of deception for yourself. You have to plead with God to help you in discerning truth. You have to be willing to always reexamine the ground on which you stand.

In 325 A.D., by order of Roman Emperor Constantine, the church became the official religion of Rome and was organized by the Nicene Counsel. This counsel created it's own creed which is very similar to the Apostles Creed, but rephrases the "resurrection of the body" to the "resurrection of the dead". That subtle difference is very significant. My mentor, PeterZ taught, "I personally believe that the council was a grave stone to the Church because it went from being an organism to an organization. It set the cannon but it also made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire and now had the authority of the State rather than the anointing of God." Since then, numerous atrocities have been carried out by the church, in the name of Christ, and have caused many non-believers to dismiss Christianity as a hypocritical, judgmental and violent religion. Fortunately, the teachings of Christ and the Apostles have little if anything to do with the horrors of the post-Nicene church. It is undeniable that scriptures have been plucked up and twisted to help the accuser to cast millions of Christians back into darkness. Lucifer prefers disguising himself as an angel of light because he once was an angel of light. Our only hope in this battle is to be vigilant: by keeping our assumptions to a minimum, by studying the scriptures in context, and by praying fervently for God to provide understanding.

Even though the church has fallen away, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Gospel is truly good news, not just some verbal formula of "accepting Jesus into our hearts". Righteousness is a life of actions that testify of the love that springs from within us. God's love for us is unconditional (agape), not "tough love", and so we should strive to love one another in the same way...without judgment. After all, God has cast the sins of those he loves into the sea of his forgetfulness. The freedom of grace seems to be lost in translation. It's not a "get out of jail free" card, so much as it is the definition of unconditional love.

Many believers came to the church in the first place because they didn't want to go to hell when they died. Messages of Hellfire and Brimstone are terrific motivators, and successful evangelists have been using that angle to beef up their recruitment numbers for many generations. And while it's true that "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom", I can tell you for certain that the fear of the Lord and the fear of Hell are two entirely different things. Throughout most of the church age, Fear of personal destruction has been used to control people, to keep them submissive and obedient to their worldly authorities. But God did not sacrifice his only begotten son so that we would be scared into submission...He did it because He "so loved the world". To fear the Lord is to acknowledge that he knows everything about us all. That he sees into our hearts, he knows our secrets, and he isn't fooled by lies (even if we persuade ourselves to believe pleasurable lies...such as condemning a group of people and calling that condemnation "love"). To fear the Lord is to follow Him, to serve him, even if your own life is threatened because of that dedication. If you have the fear of the Lord it means you are willing to stand alone, against the crowd, despite great objection because you don't care about the judgment of people so much as you care about the judgment of God. Many people who belong to the church institution aren't willing to stand out of the crowd. They follow the rest of the herd, instead of the good Shepherd. They lack the "Fear of the Lord", and therefore lack wisdom.

Growing up, I would recite the Apostles Creed at its designated time every Sunday morning church service, along with the rest of the "flock". It always struck me as strange that people in my church could recite such a radical list of beliefs with little to no emotion. It was as though people were embarrassed, and competing with each other to see who could sound the least sincere or interested. But at the same time, these same people were too afraid or self conscious to do anything but recite it, on command, every week. Lots of things about the church always puzzled me. The history, the routines, the traditions, the repetition and the methods of recruitment. What we were reading from, learning about, and claiming to believe was much more urgent, inspired and extreme than what we were in the habit of doing. It all seemed so very wrong. But it was easier for me back then to believe that there was something wrong with my perception, instead of something wrong with the entire church.

When the church was young, it was full of life, energy, love and joy...then very quickly after it's birth, it began to die. The Official Catholic Church introduced a heavy system of rules and traditions that Jesus never spoke of (but the old pagan Roman religion practiced)....and for almost the entirety of these past twenty centuries, the power, life, love, faith, and hope of the church has died...but even that was a part of God's greater plan.

The faith of Christ's disciples was shaken when he died. For two days, they remained hidden from the outside world. The rug was pulled out from under their feet. The 11 remaining Disciples, and numerous other men and women had dedicated their lives to following a man who was supposed to deliver Israel...and he died. For two days (the day it happened, and the day after) there was nothing...the future looked very grim for Christ's followers. But then on the third day he rose again: and all doubt, discouragement and uncertainty was put to rest. Followers of Christ are in a similar predicament today, but resurrection is coming. When it does, everything will change.

That's the reason why the global elite have been scrambling to establish their New World Order: Lucifer (who rules them) knows that his time is short; he knows that the resurrection is coming, and he is in a race against time to establish his rule before he is overthrown and put in chains.

Also, Jesus knew that there would be atrocities carried out in his name. As a prophet, he saw not just this point in history, but across the entire landscape of the past 2000 years. It has been marked by misinterpretation and the spiritual death of his teaching. His teachings and spirit have been rejected by the established authority. Throughout the ages, a remnant has survived, and has been blessed with an understanding of Christ's spirit. But it has only been a remnant. And here is hope: despite knowing what would happen under the banner of Christianity between then and now, Jesus also knew what would happen in our future. And the final judgment of Father and Son is that Christianity was worth the price. We haven't seen anything yet when it comes to the Glory that has been promised to the Son, and his bride. He will return to rule the world, along with his saints who will rule under his authority. The seventh "Day of Rest", the third "Day of Resurrection" and the 1000 years reign of Christ in Revelation 20 are prophecies of the same exact promise. So as bad as everything may seem to us, we must rest assured that the King of kings will be given his throne very soon, and what happens then will be more wonderful than anything we can imagine.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

What a revelation for me, Kevin. That the resurrection of the body are His followers; His remnant. I believe it is so and I understand so much better now what I was struggling with recently.

So beautiful are all the words of God that man will not be able to twist and deceive with any more.

The Body of Christ is the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and the only Temple that God is interested in rebuilding. 1Cor:3:16: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17: If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Dan let me address your points one at a time. I find it interesting that the first thing you would do is remove the speck of dust from this post, so as to regain ground in what you seem to be viewing as a power struggle between us. You are friendly as long as I don't challenge you, and when I do challenge you, I become your enemy and you treat me like any normal person would treat an enemy. The problem is, if you claim to be a Christian, you must involve yourself in the process of learning how to love your enemies.

We should both be able to agree that your first response to this post was a bit petty, and biting. Are you ashamed of that? Well that's where your second reply comes into play. You seem to exhibit a sense (however delayed) of remorse for your behavior. So there is a sense of self-recognition in you. You must allow yourself to witness yourself in your own sins. The enemy has twisted the righteousness given to you by Christ, and he has turned you into a blunt object of religiosity. You smash, and pummel, and pound on gay Christians, and believers who don't follow the pre-trib rapture, just like we were Athiests.

If you feel shame for this, don't hide from it. Embrace it! Because it is in our shame that we find repentance...and nowhere else.

You should refamiliarize with the book of 1 John. I believe that the blood of Christ is strong enough to wash away any and all sin except for blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Being Gay is not blaspheming the Holy Spirit (no matter how much the accuser may twist the scripture, there's no way to get around that).

If that's the case, it means that Gay Christians can exist. I am telling you, as a member of the church, that Gay Christians do exist. I have been blessed greatly by the faithfulness of a few gay Christians over the years. Your conclusion that gays can't be Christian is Biblically wrong, and is against the Gospel. What you see as concern, and an effort to warn heathens is a self deception. You are just as millions of other foot soldiers in the army of Conservative Christianity, and you have been attacking all homosexuals relentlessly for a long time. I stand against not you, but the millions of people who surround you, who comfort you, who endorse you. It is those who you stand with that me and my "Cronies" stand against. If you have any spiritual stance, you will stand by our side.

All liars, hypocrites, and antichrists will have their day in court. Only those who truly love Christ are my brothers. And you know that there are many who will say "Lord, Lord", and never know him. I am warning you as a brother in Christ. Please respond as one.

I will give you my take:

One of two things has happened to gay people: Either they were saved and has a tremendous amount of remorse for their behavior. Or they were never saved and they just brushed it off as "who cares" or "it's OK to sin because I am saved".

We get to a place where we are repenting, our repentance is, in itself, an evidence of the presence and ministry of the Holy Spirit. Like you said Embrace it! The test is not: are you sinning and feeling rejected by God? The test is whether you want to be forgiven. If you commit an unpardonable sin, you have utterly and completely rejected the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and you can't care about it - you will have a complete disdain and revulsion to the things of the gospel. If you are worried that you are beyond God's grace, if you fear God's judgment, if you desire to be saved, the Holy Spirit is still working in you and you cannot have utterly and completely rejected God or have blasphemed the Holy Spirit.

Do gays care? If they care about truth and seek it and fell remorse of any kind then the Holy Spirit is working in them.

It all boils down if they were ever a Christian or not. The chance is that they were never a Christian if they don't care or unrepentant.

Read Hebrews 6:4-8

If that's the case, it means that Gay Christians can exist.

Eisegesis alert!

On a side note: Do the gay people you know fast? Do you fast YB? You know, deny thyself?

It's never too late if they care...do they? Is an effeminate saved? Is desiring the lusts of the body sin?

A true test of a leader is the mood changes when the leader enters the room. God wants leaders not lukewarm fence sitters.

Everywhere in the world when you find, let's say, a heroin addict. Mostly you can find an enabler of some sort. Whether it be a family member giving them money or strangers on the street giving them money. Someone is enabling them to destroy their lives. You, my friend, are an enabler, you want to push aside the facts and let the person be. This is not love. Remember how angry Jesus was when he saw all the people selling things in the Temple? Should of he just said it to himself "oh they shouldn't do that" and let things be?

Would you drive a girl to an abortion clinic to get an abortion, because she couldn't find a ride?

Would you drive someone that wanted to do a drive by shooting? All I am saying is that if you were there as a friend then tell them the truth. Yes, it takes far more love to confront then to ignore the situation.

Dan, I have asked you to leave, and yet your pride insists on having the last word. You completely lack humility, understanding, empathy, and an honest sense of your own self. Those words are love, because they are truth. Confrontation in moderation is a loving action, but you are talking about constant confrontation. You have your set of beliefs, and you are willing to fight and confront unrelentingly in defense of those beliefs. That is foolishness. You're right that one of us is wrong. Stop attacking me. Forever Faithful knows full well that I have been wrong before. But I'm not wrong about Bush. Also, she was referring to the flock of Jesus. I don't have a flock. And she was right to point out that your "nanny nanny boo boo" comment was insulting, and hateful. You really have no idea who you are, or what spirit you are of.

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is when people claim to be real close with Jesus, without having ever met him. Pharisees blaspheme the Holy Spirit (the context of that was Pharisees insisting that Jesus was operating by the devil). Bush blasphemes the Holy Spirit every day. But of course you won't see or agree with that, because it's another challenge to your effortful and well established foundation of beliefs. I really wish that you would have listened to what I've told you, that you would have taken my warnings seriously, but you haven't. That's your choice to make. But the spirit of relentlessness that drives you is not Christ. The spirit that causes you to insult and attack me is not Christ, it is the accuser of the saints, and he has already been defeated. Nothing you say can hurt me, your words only damage yourself. That's why I have asked you to stop. So please take my advice, and stop!

Every careless word said, every insulting and harsh reaction, every promise to pray for people you never do, and every promise to double check what you assume you already know will be held against you.

Forever Faithful, you came just in the nick of time, thank you for your encouragement. Sandra, thank you, what you've said means a lot to me.

I can't wait until these spirits are brought under the feet of our Lord. The way Dan is behaving has drained me, but your kindness has replenished me. Please continue to contribute if you feel led. It really is a handful of us against millions of misguided and puffed up "Christians".

I believe that in many congregations there is a remnant that belong to the Good Shepherd, but many have followed the wrong shepherds, the wrong rushes of triumph (as when they "slam dunk" an argument, as Dan believes he has, which explains his malicious "playfulness"), the wrong spirit.

These Christians are like the foolish, lazy 5 Virgins who didn't think they would need to have oil for their lamp (oil is love, suffering, sharing in the spirit of Christ, as all saints do). More on that probably later this week. We're not many, but we're solid. You two are a proud example of the Lord's handiwork, and I'm glad we're of the same accord.

These self-righteous 'Christians' are indeed the multitudes. They will be so surprised when Jesus tells them He does not know them. They are modern day Pharisees; they know the Law but are not led by the Holy Spirit and will not listen. They will wear you down and enjoy doing it because of their stubbornness and because they are of the wrong spirit. I, too, cannot wait until this kind are made a footstool under our Lord. I agree, young brother, we are but a minority, but the truth according to God's Holy Word makes us mighty. All praise and glory to God who has found us worthy in some small way.

I commend you on the way you dealt with Dan, but I hope that he moves on now as enough is enough and he may never see the truth.

I believe his true colors were really starting to show when he did not understand that it was God's flock that I was referring to and not yours. He is jealous of your wisdom rather than wanting to learn from it. Once again we see that those who support or do not see the wickedness of George W. Bush are blinded.

Serving each other is serving the Lord and I am honored to have been at your service in a small way. Sandra is indeed a blessing as you are and I am humbled to be of the same accord as both of you. You do understand that GW condones the behavior as a professing Christian why YB claims is the Antichrist, and YB condones such behavior also being a professing Christian. GW and YB agree about the same things?

YB has jumped down my throat and claims I hate gay people (which I don't) in other posts. He claims it's perfectly fine to be gay with single or multiple partners and still be a Christian. He thinks the GLBT community should be embraced and tolerated. Right YB?

This subject is very important in YB and our relationship. I don't hate him at all. I don't hate gay people at all. I understand I strayed from topic but is blogging really so strict in the guidelines?

OH yea one more thing that link you sent claimed:

I only gave you the link to 'Bohemian Grove' to show you that those who profess to be Christian and say the gay lifestyle is a sin are in fact living that lifestyle behind closed doors which makes them very much hypocrites. They preach against it but are doing it. That is why I put the link for you to see.

I agree rumors are not to be believed and I have been actively searching to see if Obama and McCain were there but I can not find anything to prove they were there so it is just a rumor with no proof to date.

Straying from the topic is not unusual but that is all you talk about. You are obsessed with the topic and you just want to argue with anyone who does not believe as you do. You accused me on Stephen's blog of not being saved and that you will stand next to Jesus to discuss whether I am saved. I tried finding it on Stephen's blog but all your postings are gone so I guess you might call me a liar again but you did say it. Accusing is all you seem to want to do and than you point the finger at others saying they are doing it. When you point the finger at others 3 point back at you.

We are told in scripture to encourage each other on our path. That is what I tried to do but in your mind it is flattery. You just won't get off this subject and I wanted to encourage YB that he should stay strong against your accusations and to let him know we appreciate his work. I can't speak for FF but I know her heart is pure and she encourages all of us on our path with the Lord. She is a sweet gentle soul and you are trying to tear into her.

What I did say is that Gay Christians exist, which is something that you cannot accept. It's a fact that a lot of Gay Christians that I know are either single, or in a monogamous relationship, but your imagination filled in the gaps. I conclude that you hate Gays because you can't accept that Christians can have a homosexual orientation. I also say you hate gays because of the numerous other things that you have said about gays, which can be read in your comments here, and on Hanchett's blog. The evidence of your hatred is obvious to the outside world, and it is not of Christ.

You're deceiving yourself when you don't recognize that you are hounding and persecuting homosexuals. More importantly (again) you devalue the blood of Christ when you assume that he didn't take the sin of gay adultry upon himself when he was on the cross. That devaluation of the blood of Christ keeps you yet in your sins, and puts you in opposition to Jesus Christ. For who are you to judge another man's servant?

You invite my judgment by your words here. Homosexuals receive your judgment by their very existence, who is being more judgmental here? I judge you because you claim to represent Jesus Christ, who is my Lord.

Have you bothered to inform yourself of the presidential directives that Bush has in place to install martial law with NO congressional oversight for six months? Did you hear him say before the 2004 election that if we had another 911, he would suspend the election then? Yet you mock the possibility.

Given the above words of the Lord, I hate the way you judge and condemn the homosexuals while claiming to be concerned about them. What hypocrisy and you are indeed blinded.

The minister Ted Haggard also was obsessed with homosexuals and than we find out he was doing it behind closed doors.

Amen, Sandra. The one-voice harmony is such a blessing that I cannot find words for it, but it actually makes my heart leap in joy. You keep shining brighter with every passing day my beloved sister and your testimony and witness of love for the Lord is just a beautiful thing to behold.

Good point about Haggard and great news about Stephen. Keep praying for him. Another man who writes much truth at smokingmirrors.blogspot has quit writing temporarily (hopefully only temporarily) as he says he thought this would all go away and now realizes it is not and he explains it by cobwebs in his head or something like that (depression most likely) and his readers are advising him that many dissident sites are going down. Someone suggested that he may be a target of a chemical attack. Stange world and getting stranger. But we have each other, our faith and our Lord...more thankful for each one with every passing second.

Stephen probably didn't take too kindly to Dan's bashing seeing what he has just gone through.

If he cared to find answers, instead of argue and cause discord, he would have followed through on the leads and scriptures that were provided by many people during his long ride on top of the soapbox. But Dan doesn't care about answers. He cares about "winning" the argument. I will no longer tolerate this. Any future comments from Dan that are argumentative for the sake of argument, or accusing, or hateful in any other way will be deleted from this blog. There are more serious matters at stake. God is the ultimate judge of the matter, and I don't have any more time to keep going in these circles.

Dan now put the deleted comment on the end times journal. It does not make sense there because others don't know what he is talking about and what he is responding too. It sounds like someone not quite right in his mind and makes no sense to those who were not in on the discussion and responding to his accusations. That is so mean spirited of him. It seems he wants to embarrass you and all he is doing is making a fool of himself. Now watch he will say I am judging him but he can throw his accusation out but then cries foul when it is done to him.
