Analyzing the Evangelical Legacy

Here we are, on the brink of George Bush's seventh complete year in office, a country very different than the one we knew when Bill Clinton passed on the crown of leadership. It may be that to some extent we are too close to the changes as they now exist to fully see the nature of them. By examining our recent past, we may see what is likely to come in the last year of Bush's presidency.

In order to assess the legacy of George Bush, we should include an examination of his base, the religious right.

Both the president and his evangelical voter block claim proudly that they hold themselves accountable to the Christian God alone, and so it would be wise for us to judge them the way that Jesus taught when he said, "You can judge a tree by the fruit it produces; for a bad tree cannot produce good fruit, and a good tree cannot produce bad fruit." and also "From out of our mouths comes the abundance of our hearts".

We have all heard, time and time again, from Bush and the religious right that they see themselves as sanctified, and doing the work of Christ. They see opposition to them and their ideology as the cross that they must endure for the sake of their righteousness. It's really quite a sad and delusional self image, which is re-enforced by teachings from 1 Peter 4:12-14.

"Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified."
It's a great passage to explain and pacify the natural sense of guilt that comes with abandoning and ignoring the very poor you are supposed to defend, and knowingly misrepresenting the callings and standards of the faith you claim to believe in. It helps you sleep at night when you have a 28% approval rating that's daily threatening to drop. However, it is a message taken out of context. The truth is that no passage can reverse the command to love one another, and to be forgiving and kind to your neighbor. The true path to life is not an easy one to follow, but it is worth it. It takes work, requires sacrifice, teaches patience through testing patience, and depends on a foundation of love. Rest assured, no substitute will be mistaken for the real thing on judgment day.

Christians have been warned that the devil comes to deceive, disguised as an angel of light, and that we are living in a day and age where false teachers are everywhere, twisting the truth to serve their own vain imaginations. But despite the various warnings given by scripture, many flocks of the American Evangelical movement have been led astray by their silver-tongued shepherds, settling down for a comfortable and clean perch of self-righteous judgment against the world; interpreting the disdain they have earned from their neighbors as suffering for the sake of Christ.

In fact, people resist the religious right agenda because it's bigoted, invasive, and ultimately selfish; not because it's the agenda that Jesus Christ would pursue, or bless. There is nothing of love in most of their works. For anyone to be persecuted for meddling is seen as just in the eyes of the Lord, and carries with it no special reward. It is simply the law of cause and effect. A tree with sour fruit will inspire only revulsion. In fact, that point is made directly after the passage these people use to excuse themselves. 1 Peter 4:15
"But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters."
Christ wasn't a meddler, he was a revolutionary. He transformed the world by his life, and by teaching that Love is the highest aspiration we can have. We must love God and love each other. Whenever a faith creates walls to separate us from our calling to love, it is like salt that has lost it's saltiness, or like a light that has been hidden under a Bush.

This brings us back to January 20th, 2001. Although it was a rainy day in Washington D.C., the city's streets were packed with protesters who pelted eggs at the motorcade of "president-elect" Bush. I watched a portion of CNN's coverage of the event a while back, and was impressed by various protesters they filmed. It seems more and more these days that the various doomsday scenarios predicted in the wake of 2000's curve-ball election by protesters and many Democratic voters have been coming true. At the time I found it easier to believe that the warnings were a bunch of hot air. But over a relatively short period of time, we have all witnessed the strength and integrity of our established system of government suffer ongoing attacks. The election fiasco wasn't the worst of it, but rather the beginning of a deeply disturbing trend. And the masses have become numb to it. 9-11 had the effect of hypnotizing the nation , and in it's wake was released the U.S.A. Patriot act, which rendered many civil liberties guaranteed by the Bill of Rights void. When the issue of it's renewal was in question, and Bush felt under attack, he lost his temper and called the constitution, "just a goddamned piece of paper!" That slip of the tongue should concern us greatly, because "out of the mouth, comes the abundance of the heart".

Our government has been systematically transforming into the very dictatorship George W Bush joked about in December 2000, quipping to reporters, "A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier...just so long as I'm the dictator!"

Although, for the millions who had opposed Bush, inauguration day was a day of mourning; to the religious right and the rich and powerful Illuminati elite (those whom Al Gore had called the "wealthiest 1%"), it was a day of great victory. Unfortunately, to the rest of America, it was just another Saturday. The Pastor-in-Chief swore in with a flowery and inspirational speech that could have only been one of two things. Either it was his heart-felt, true intentions for leadership, or a string of lies, mocking the intelligence, beliefs and aspirations of a nation sideswiped by his rise to power. Now that we have the advantage of time, we can measure the truth of all those promises he made during campaigns and debates. A while back, John Stewart and "The Daily Show" did a fantastic job of exposing the lying nature of Bush's campaign rhetoric.

It's clear, upon review, to see that George W Bush is a systematic liar; from promising to find and capture Osama Bin Laden at any cost, to promising immediate and generous relief to the victims of hurricane Katrina. However, Bush doesn't only lie about issues that the public demands that he address. On the contrary, he goes out of his way to speak as a saint, while faithfully playing the villain with his every action. His smirk has a habit of popping up when it seems least appropriate. Perhaps in those moments he is delighting in how little we seem to pay attention. His own supporters are, after all, hiding behind the very book which gives account of all the signs and lying wonders that have been defining his reign. They are completely blind to his true nature, because they are unwilling to honestly examine their own souls. And they are so assured at their salvation, that they do not take it upon themselves to study the scriptures. Their preachers and prophets proclaim unto them, "peace, peace", when there is no peace! By their spiritual laziness they have let themselves be transformed into an enemy of Christ, just as the scribes and the pharisees had been when Jesus ministered to Israel.

George W Bush speaks in broad, sometimes fumbled, yet undeniably boastful terms. He speaks of great things easily, as though he possessed the authority to rid the world of evil. By now, most people don't bother listening to him because they know he speaks of things he never intends to do (like helping people), and against things he secretly condones (like torturing people). This boastfulness is a strong characteristic of Daniel's view of the antichrist, or "little horn". For instance, during his 2004 campaign for re-election, he told a group of potential Amish voters that God speaks through him. That's serious business. If Bill Clinton would have said that, he would have been crucified. It is the church's responsibility to look for, and to expose the final antichrist. Yet, instead of reconsidering their support, the church is still trying to pass off prickly pear Bush as if he were the apple of God's eye. By now they are only fooling themselves, but they do so to the defamation of the gospel, and to their own disgrace. George W Bush is a wolf in sheep's clothing, the child of lies, the man of sin, the antichrist. He has been fulfilling signs concerning this role throughout his life and presidency. Bush has confessed in his autobiography that he remains a member of the devil worshiping Skull and Bones society! Christians have no excuse for being surprised when destruction from his hand reveals his demonic nature to the whole world during his final year, even while people rejoice in his upcoming replacement. The 2008 election has filled many with hope and a sense of peace that is in all likely-hood misplaced. George W Bush is an addict who will not easily give up his fix. For the past seven years, his fix has been power. He will fight to keep it, though even his puppet masters might plan to take it from him. He's always been a cowboy kind of president, and rest assured, Bush is ready for a showdown.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-8
For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

very insightful. I believe this looking to the election is a distraction to keep from impeaching him. He has no intention of leaving office

I recalled back when blasphemous Bush said God speaks through him...

I have this feeling that he will suspend the elections somehow there is no way he will leave the office. In order for Bush to be the Antichrist which I say he is he has to exceed the 2nd term to stay in power. Meaning declaring Martial Law for another "terror" attack around November 2008. I wonder when will the pharisees and the possessed satanic spirits get exorcised when they see bush seeking the third term...BushCheney 08 is definitely the next ticket.
This goes back to hanchett's scripture about the 4600 days and nights of the war...I cannot believe at the time while calculating the start of the iraq war it will exceed to 2009 not far away from the end times of 2012...

nice post! Good catch with Bush's "just a goddamned piece of paper!". Really this "piece of paper" is the heart of the original United States. And sadly George Bush has corrupted it. Have you read or heard about the book "The End Of America: A letter of warning to a young patriot" By Naomi Wolf? I ordered it the other day and I am waiting for it to come in the mail. Christians and Non-Christians alike should agree that Bush has by far been the worst president in history.

On a side note, I really enjoyed your posts on Nephilism. I can see how maybe the Bohemian Grove fits into that as well. Are you planning any more posts?

Preach on!

Peterz, and N, I completely agree with you. I've had a strong sense lately that the showdown is just around the corner. Part of me has been expecting it to jump out of every corner, but now a much deeper and real sense of dread has begun to replace that general watchfulness.

Josh, thank you! I'm glad you are being edified by my efforts here. The Nephilim series has blossomed quite a bit over the past few months. I'm very glad you enjoyed them, though they can be a bit redundant in my efforts to tell the story in such a way. I have rerouted the series to it's own blog at:
nephilimhistory.blogspot.com

And yes, I do plan to cover more ground in the future. My next post will be called "The Messiah Conspiracy" and it's almost finished. If you want to email me at dyingplanet@gmail.com, I can update you when I post it.

On this blog I think it would be appropriate to discuss the recent phenomenon of apocalyptic themes in modern music for my next post. It's just a matter of finding the time, but seeing that there are people who actually read this thing, I will do my best to make the time.

Your feedback is very much appreciated, thank you all.

Apocalyptic themes in modern music? We threw some lyrics back and forth on the "Is Bush the Antichrist blog". I think I mentioned War pigs by Black Sabbath and a few RATM (Rage against the machine) songs.

Interesting subject, I'm not sure if its a completely recent phenomena as during the 70's oil shocks there was a small movement preaching the end by survivalists. But on the other hand that was directly after an event that woke people up about how fragile our economy is. I couldn't give you any band names or song titles though preaching the end though during that time period. So certainly there has been a large number of songs and bands coming forth recently talking about the end times, so I'm looking forward to your post analyzing them.

May I suggest Marilyn Manson? Most see him as evil and how our youth has completely became useless. But I remember him talking about how its all satire, and how youth are being brought up to be completely useless. With Ritalin, constant tv, drugs and sexual immorality. Maybe thats why we aren't seeing the uprising like we did during the 60's and 70's.

Speaking of oil shocks, I find myself thinking more and more that the end of cheap oil is what is going to allow Bush to take power. I read a newspaper article the other day about how $3 gas isn't stopping people from buying the same amount of gas. There reasoning was (and i quote) "What will we stop doing? Stop going to work? thats silly."

What happens when gas hits $5? or $10? It could happen very quickly if the flow of oil from the middle east is disrupted. Not only will this bring drastic increases to gas prices, but to food prices, gas + electric prices, and consumer good prices. I think its going to spark Bush's resource war where the US flexes its military muscle to take control of what oil is left on this earth.

I have been interested in survivalism recently. Do you have any future plans for when the government starts doing weird things? I am planning on purchasing some items to help me survive these next few years isolated in the country. I'm looking at maybe purchasing some useful books on the matter of survivalism, do you have any recommendations?

I'm rambling I'm sure, God bless young brother. Keep up the posts!

Josh I have a few of manson cds also I should also recommend you Corporate Avenger, Daddy X, Dead Prez, Soulfly, Public Enemy, Bionic Jive and Nothingface. I cannot forget king of anti technology FEAR FACTORY! Just a few that talk about real issues instead of bling thuggery. If you do not know who daddy x is he is part of the Kottonmouth Kings crew.

"What happens when gas hits $5? or $10? It could happen very quickly if the flow of oil from the middle east is disrupted. I will tell you this there are other alternatives but they are just junk technologies. Ethanol, corn oil, hybrids, they are all junk. I rode on thr prius once and it was hardly anything efficient. The ones I see effective was the water powered vehicles but nobody wants to start on it. The man who invented it was murdered 9 years ago. I would say the government is involved along with the oil industry and they know this very well. Guess who is starting on the water powered vehicle now yes the car companies. So it is ok for the car companies to start on something on water powered vehicles but not ok for a poor genius farmer from Ohio to take the credit.

Heck the car companies are most likely owned by the oil crooks. Every time I see the gas price on the three mark the blood boils further in my veins. I recalled back in GA around 2004 it hit almost on the 2 dollar mark. Now a mere four years we are on the three mark. This was a far leap from the dollar mark about ten years back.

Unfortunately there will be more junk technologies on the way, i phone is a junk tech so is myspace, and these cable companies as well, looks like all of the corporate conglomerates like google and ebay are swallowing chunks. I stopped using AT&T services a while back because they are ripping me off left and right...right now I have no house phone...

Josh have you thought about living away from bank owned houses? I am considereing finding property and make my own house away from society. Like the old man on the cave.
I talked to someone who said I can give up my social security number and not to pay taxes anymore. Probably there is a book or a site somewhere that does talk about it...

I'm 21. So I don't have the funds to buy anything without bank assistance. My cousin / grandma have houses bought of and remote, so when shit hits the fan I am heading there. I want to get off the grid soon. I am studying encryption and ways to communicate privately, so discussions against Bush can happen. If anyone is interested in communicating via stereography or open source PGP let me know!!

Anonymous said...

I know what you mean I am grad school right now and I feel that I want to get off this grid as soon as I graduate. Do you know anything about phones or other types of encryptions to block off the all seeing eye on things like purchases?

I am a bit ignorant about the PGP and stereography as well...

Joshua said...

The phones will always be watched. Unless you have the proper equipment to randomize it, which I'm not even sure where to begin. Throw away phones like the Walmart $20 cellphones are good for temp phones if your looking for one, if only because your name is not associated with it at all.

OpenPGP should be something you can google. It allows completely encrypted messages, that not even the government can decipher without dedicated supercomputer time dedicated to decoding it (which is a waste of time, normally 2 weeks to decrypt a single message(

Stenography is the practice of encrypting a message inside a picture. Casual lookers see the picture, but only the informed knows there is a hidden message inside. Again, google it.

I listened to an interesting sermon a while back. Preaching that the internet is the new Tower of Babel. Think about it.

I have been reading some of your older posts that I had not read yet. All of them are well developed and I would like to give you my encouragment to keep posting! You always seem to have a well developed thought and an appropriate picture to go along with it.

I read your profile and it says you are still in school. May I ask where?

Wow. When it rains, it pours! To address your issues, N and Josh, I moved to Durham in January of 2006, to live with PeterZ, and to learn from him. We live on 12 1/2 acres, surrounded by forest, and we recently build a barn/housing unit right next to the house for when things collapse, and people need shelter. PeterZ has been a part of Hanchett's blog community since it's inception, and he is a wonderful teacher and mentor.

He also established a mostly off-grid Christian Community back in the 70's called "Sunshine Farms". So when it says "student" in my profile, it's more like "apprentice".

Survivalism is a wise field of interest in this day and age. We are in the calm before the storm, but believers are promised to be hidden in Christ, which is something I am glad to believe. "Survivalism" is also a single from the new Nine Inch Nails album.

Marilyn Manson was a twisted prophet. His album "Antichrist Superstar" will be highlighted in my next post (look for it within the next four days, as I finally have some time off from work)

N, your description of "Junk Technologies" was on point. The reason for it is that Satan is not a builder, nor a healer, but a destroyer, a corrupter, a tempter. He is the "prince of this world" and so all kingdoms, and institutions of this world are laced with poison, including holidays, religions, technologies, and good old-fashioned worldly wisdom.

Life is coming, sense is returning, Love will conquer, but for now it has been overcome, and brought to the grave. The Rock of Christ is coming to smash this old world into pieces. Christ does not come alone, no, he is surrounded by clouds of his servants. A new age is just around the corner, but rather than sit back and wait for it, we are called to be actively engaged in it's manifestation...because this is pleasing to God.

young brother said...

By the way, Josh, thank you for the compliment. Also PeterZ is "pursuingtruth", and the post that describes "Sunshine Farms" can be found at http://benotdeceived.blogspot.com/2006/02/vision-to-come-again.html

Check it out!

The Messiah Conspiracy has just been published on nephilimhistory.blogspot.com

I checked out the article. What a lovely thing. The power of good people. What is the status of sunshine farms right now? Is there where you are located?

I wish I could be in the woods of North Carolina. I am currently situated in the fields of Indiana, conviently located in between two very large military bases (Camp Atterbury and Muscatatuck). It hard not to feel surrounded! I do have two bug out properties in the back woods that I can stay at indefinetly, so I don't loose sleep over where I am.

As I was writing this, my email notified me of a new post. Keep them going and God bless!
